Aquila yachts have always been leaders in styling, design, and innovation in the global power catamaran market. Now, the new Aquila 50Y takes a step forward, while the designers have ensured that the typical elegant lines of the existing Aquila models are incorporated, making it recognizable from miles away. It has a strong presence on the water, yet also brings graceful lines and styling. It is the perfect blend of luxury and performance.

Aquila yachts have always been leaders in styling, design, and innovation in the global power catamaran market. Now, the new Aquila 50Y takes a step forward, while the designers have ensured that the typical elegant lines of the existing Aquila models are incorporated, making it recognizable from miles away. It has a strong stance on the water, yet brings graceful lines and styling. It is the perfect blend of luxury and performance.

As the "Explorer" evolves into the mainstream of superyacht design, we challenged the designers at J&J Design to collaborate with us to create a completely new look for Aquila yachts, not only breaking new ground in yacht styling but also leaving a deep impression in usability and layout. First, we carefully studied the freeboard area from midship to the bow. When observing this area on existing yacht models, we found a great direction to advance our design and provide the yacht with a fresh appearance. By raising the forward freeboard, we began to introduce and implement a series of advanced technologies in the design. From the side of the boat, you will first notice the large windows on the hull sides. While ensuring the boat remains identifiable as an Aquila, we maximized the usable windows inside the hull. Now, the main cabin has two very large windows on both the port and starboard sides, offering incredible views. The beds in the two guest cabins face directly out the windows, allowing your guests and family to enjoy the horizon views.

On one side of the hull, you will notice a step on the side deck as you move forward. This is where the magic happens, opening the door for us to bring more opportunities into the overall yacht design. One major benefit is the addition of extra bathroom space in the main cabin. This allowed us to design an unprecedented single-level master guest cabin area on a 50-foot yacht. We can maximize every inch of space inside the main cabin, enabling us to offer more internal usable space, such as a large and comfortable sofa area (which can optionally be converted into an office area) and a wash area. Another advantage is that we added a large amount of storage space under the floors on both the port and starboard sides of the master guest cabin for easy access. Most importantly, we can also have a spacious walk-in closet, providing ample space for hanging and storing clothes for a couple. When studying the foredeck area of this boat, we noticed that newer monohull designs begin to maximize foredeck space, which in turn provides more room for seating and entertainment. By pushing the bow deck outward, we can fully utilize the foredeck area, bringing more sunbathing, seating, and entertainment opportunities. We designed two large sun loungers with adjustable backrests, offering multiple ways to use this area. The forward end of the foredeck area slopes down, providing an excellent spot for entertainment and enjoying the view. This drop-down forward helm design has multiple advantages, such as forward-facing seats with built-in backrests that can pop up from the sun loungers. The master guest cabin also benefits from this, with windows on the forward vertical surface facing forward, providing additional lighting and views for the cabin. The bench facing the stern also has extra seating, providing ample space for dining and entertainment. Additionally, there is a large amount of storage space at the bow on both port and starboard sides, accessible through large deck hatches.   An important part of the Aquila DNA yacht series design process is ensuring direct connectivity between the flybridge and the bow area. Our design team carefully studied the benefits of this passage offered by existing and older yachts and sought a way to maximize flybridge space while maintaining convenient access to the foredeck area, as with all our yachts. We ultimately adopted an asymmetrical design, providing a walkway forward on the starboard side of the flybridge. The benefit of this is that we can move the helm position further forward, creating a more protected helm area that is also central, and opening up the flybridge area to increase seating and entertainment space. Moving the flybridge stairs to starboard provides us with a spacious working area on the flybridge. Considering the excellent feedback we received from customers, we invested a lot of design and development time in this area. The flybridge layout offers a very open view in the central area, with comfortable seating on both port and starboard sides. When entertaining guests on board, the L-shaped seating area and sun loungers at the stern provide ample space. The wet bar area is top-notch, offering plenty of countertop space and all top refrigeration equipment, as well as brand-new Kenyon Signature series electric grills.

Of course, during the design process, we also wanted to ensure the hull still has mature performance and offshore cruising capability. We continue to use the proven bulbous bow to increase volume. The bulbous bow design has multiple uses, such as improving comfort when sailing in rough conditions and reducing the "horseshoe effect" that may occur with other power catamaran brands. Additionally, it should be noted that if an unfortunate collision with underwater or floating objects occurs, the bulbous bow will be the sacrificial part, ensuring a high level of safety. Aquila has excellent seakeeping performance, so we continue to leave sufficient height in the bridge deck area (the height between the hulls). We have always aimed to maximize this height to prevent excessive slamming or the "suction effect" problems that often occur on power catamarans because the gap in this area is small.    In summary, our Aquila 50Y will showcase a stylish and elegant new image on the water while offering outstanding cruising capability. It will bring you an unprecedented yacht experience. The spacious entertainment area, single-level full-beam master guest cabin, and innovative design features throughout the yacht's interior and exterior will impress you in every aspect. The Aquila 50Y will make its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this October.
